How does buying on Art Garage Sale work?

To buy items, you'll need to create an Art Garage Sale account (it's free and easy – see the General FAQ for details). You purchase items on Art Garage Sale directly from the seller, using PayPal. (However you don’t necessarily need a PayPal account to pay the seller through PayPal, you can just use your credit card) Keep in mind that every seller must be paid individually. We ask that you submit payment immediately to the seller. All payments must be submitted within 3 days or the s eller can cancel the transaction. Each seller will have their own return policy (if they have one at all) and shipping options. If you have any questions about any of these, it's best to contact the seller directly before making the purchase.

How does the shopping cart work?

As you shop around and find items that suit your fancy, add them to your cart. Note: items in your cart are not removed from the site or reserved for you, until you complete the checkout process. The majority of items on Art Garage Sale are one-of-a-kind and thus tend to sell out quickly, so it's a bit risky to leave items in your cart for too long. Once you've got everything you want, click the big red Place Order button and follow the onscreen instructions.

Why am I required to register before being able to buy anything?

Our feedback system relies on being able to identify the parties involved in every transaction. Your username (email address) is the unique identifier which makes this possible.

Is Art Garage Sale in USD and how do I handle currency conversions?

Right now you can only list items in United States Dollars (USD) on Art Garage Sale. PayPal will automatically convert your currency

What is PayPal, how does it work on Art Garage Sale, and how do I buy items with it?

Art Garage Sale facilitates payments through a third-party service called PayPal™. Sellers must register a Business or Premier account with PayPal, which lets buyers pay securely using their credit card. The buyer does not have to be a member of this service in order to submit a payment by credit card.

I don't have a PayPal account. Can I just pay with a credit card?

Yes! Buyers can submit payment by crediit card through PayPal without having a PayPal account. Check out this helpful walkthrough of that process:

Reporting a Problem

As a buyer, how I do I report any problems with an item?

If an item you pay for is not shipped by the seller, is significantly not as described, or arrives damaged please contact the seller directly to work toward a resolution. If your communication with the seller proves unsuccessful, you should email support@ArtGarageSale.com with your username and the item number. We will work to resolve the situation. You may also leave appropriate feedback for the seller who failed to ship the item or describe it properly.
